The Next Big Scheme

Hey Gang, just a quick little note to check out my new page on the blog.  I'm planning to have a Spiral Hunger Games.  Rules are on the Hunger Games Tourney tab.  If you're interested feel free to comment on this post of shoot me a line at twitter.  My twitter is @JohnLifeglen.  Also, you can say something with the hashtag #SpiralHungerGames to catch my attention.  I will be monitoring both feeds for activity.  Just let me know where you'd like to fill in!  If you would rather be a "guide on the side" than a "sage on the stage" and want to help out in a way not seen by the public, drop me a line as well!  And now I'm off to bed before work and an econ exam tomorrow.

So You Think You Know Somebody...And Monsters in Need

So you think you know someone...and it turns out that things are different between you than you once thought.  People grow older and grow apart, they start spending less time with best friends and more times with other people.  Maybe it's just a phase in their life or they are exploring what a different group of friends would be like.  It's not the end of the world for someone to stop talking to you for a little while.  The thing is, you shouldn't be afraid to tell someone how you feel about it.  If their reaction is negative, then maybe they aren't really as good of friend as you once thought.

Or, maybe, something has happened recently and they are withdrawn.  See if you can help figure out the root of the problem.  If somebody asks you to cease and desist then by all means stop prying, but sometimes it is reassuring to have someone ask what the problem is.  Be it a relationship in game or a relationship in reality, all relationships have meaning.  It doesn't matter if you have never met the person before for real, they are still a 'friend' in a sense of the word.

On another note, one of our fellow bloggers recently had his good name dragged through the mud.  Autumn over at Homework in a Graveyard has the full scoop and a small request for you all.  Please pay it close attention.  Ditto: Here's my personal message to you.  Don't let those people get you down.  I've got a myriad of song choices to show you but this is my current favorite for that situation (because I'm stuck in Gleek mode...)

Also, Autumn: I hereby Pledge an Oath to Keep the Trust (just so long as you keep me in the loop about which members are/not clear for the blogroll!).  On that note, members of the Wizard101 Bloggers' Club, should you choose to make posts in a manner unfitting of this family friendly community you will be swiftly removed from the Bloggers' Club and all affiliation with you shall be revoked.  This is not up for debate.

Blue Berets are OFFICIAL!

Hey guys, just a quick little note about an issue I've noticed cropping up.  The nifty little button you see on my header (not the ones made by KI, but the Bloggers' Club Member one) is cropping up in places other than sites that I have approved for inclusion in the club.  Any website not linked to on my Bloggers' Club HQ page is NOT affiliated with us in any way shape or form.  Please disregard anyone claiming to be a member who is not.  Now on to the meat-and-potatoes (or should I say macaroni-and-cheese since I can't have meat today??) of this post!

The Blue Berets (hashtag #BlueBerets on Twitter) are fully formed now!  WOOT!  We've got our four players for a full team and we have even attracted a team mascot (wearing the uniform sans symbols).  Ok, who wants a picture?  Methinks yes.

From Left to Right: Back Row: Maria Moonblossom (Life), Jasmine Smith (Mascot), Cassandra Hexthorn (Fire).
Front Row: Matthew Deathcaster (Death), John Lifeglen (Balance).
So that's the team.  We've played two practice matches thus far.  We lost the first (going second) and won the second (going second) so it's going to be an interesting ride.  Conflicting schedules mean we don't get to work on improving as often as we would like.

It surprises me that my best friend EVER Cassandra Hexthorn is now enjoying PvP to a degree.  After our old 2v2 experiences (that she has conveniently repressed memories of...) I was certain she'd never step into the ring again.  How happily surprised was I?  Super!

And now I need to get changed and head to work.  Have fun!

WinterTusk...What's That?

I'm very glad you asked, title.  It's the newest world coming to the spiral (no release dates or anything yet) and all we really know is that we get new school pets, some fancy new spells, and Crab Alley is coming back in a post-Selena way to continue the story of the crab king!  I don't have time to dive into more details but Ditto and Friendly have got the scoop!  Also be sure to check out Ditto's wonderful PAX East content, lucky little pup Fabricated American!  Ravenwood Radio goes live tomorrow night at 8:30 CST and Ditto will be there too.  Did we mention Ditto made the launcher again?  Way to go!

Let's also give a warm Wizard101 welcome-back to Autumn over at Homework in a Graveyard!  You have been missed, Autumn!

And now I'm off to work.  Feel free to stop by this thread on central that I created to theorycraft about WinterTusk!
